Actividad física y conducta sedentaria en estudiantes de primer ciclo de educación infantil.

Abstract

El objetivo de este trabajo fue: a) analizar el cumplimiento de las recomendaciones de actividad física y comportamiento sedentario en sujetos de primer ciclo de educación infantil, en relación al género, y; b) determinar las posibles diferencias en cuanto al comportamiento sedentario en horario escolar versus horario extraescolar. Se seleccionaron 73 escolares de primer ciclo de Educación Infantil (2.12±0.46 años). Los participantes llevaron puesto durante 5 días consecutivos (lunes a viernes), un acelerómetro (Actigraph GT3X; Actigraph, Pensacola, FL, USA), que registró el nivel de actividad física moderada-vigorosa (AFMV) (min/día), el volumen de pasos, la conducta sedentaria (min/día) y el número de Bouts de conducta sedentaria (10, 20 y 30 min) de lunes a viernes; así como en Horario Escolar vs Horario Extraescolar. Los resultados indican un cumplimiento medio de las recomendaciones de AFMV (entorno al 50%), para estas edades, existiendo una tendencia a ser más alto en los chicos. Además, se observa una alta conducta sedentaria en los diferentes momentos evaluados, aunque destaca que la misma es significativamente menor en el Horario Escolar vs Horario Extraescolar. Este estudio puede contribuir a generar programas de intervención que contribuyan a un incremento de la AF y descender el tiempo en conducta sedentaria.
