Lesiones del ligamento cruzado anterior de la rodilla

Abstract

Las lesiones del ligamento cruzado anterior de la rodilla son comunes y producen discapacidad en personas jóvenes y deportistas; además, predisponen a lesiones ulteriores de la rodilla y a osteoartritis temprana. Esta revisión actualiza los siguientes aspectos de importancia para la comprensión, el diagnóstico y el tratamiento de estas lesiones: anatomía y biomecánica del ligamento cruzado anterior; incidencia, factores de riesgo, estrategias de prevención, historia natural, diagnóstico, examen físico, evaluación artrométrica, estudios imaginológicos, lesiones asociadas, tratamientos conservador y quirúrgico y rehabilitación. Se describen, además, las nuevas tendencias en el tema.
