Rather than in a post-democracy, we are living in a time of post-politics, a democracy without politics. The political activism, as well as “negative sovereign”, both have increased. However, positive sovereign, the political capacity of shaping the amalgam of social claims, has not increased in the same manner. This unbalance between what citizens can prevent and what we are able to shape has led to a depolitization of our public spaces, in which insensitive technocrats to democratic reasons and populists that ignore what is political possible, face each other. The only possible way to politicize our democracies is by exploring their limitations and protecting them against themselves.
