Simulacrum Hominis

Abstract

In der gegenwärtigen Phase der Digitalisierung sind zwischenmenschliche Beziehungen zunehmend von generativen Systemen durchdrungen, deren Inhalte und Interaktionen menschenähnlich erscheinen. Große Technologieunternehmen wie OpenAI und Tesla arbeiten daran, wesentliche und charakteristische Eigenschaften des Menschen technisch zu reproduzieren. Die so entstehenden Simulacra sind Abbilder des Menschen ohne echte Vorbilder, seien es KI-generierte Bilder und Texte, künstlich intelligente Begleiter oder menschenähnliche Roboter. Lukas Brand entwickelt eine Theorie der Reproduktion des Menschen in digital-technischen Artefakten und erarbeitet wesentliche Grundlagen zur Analyse und Bewertung dieses Phänomens an der Schnittstelle von Technologie, Philosophie und Theologie. Dabei gibt er eine leicht verständliche Einführung in die Funktionsweise von künstlicher Intelligenz und den generellen Aufbau digital-technischer Artefakte. Die vorliegende Arbeit erlaubt somit nicht nur die Einordnung von Sprachmodellen wie GPT oder humanoiden Robotern, sondern legt auch die anthropologischen Grundannahmen offen, die diesen Systemen zugrunde liegen. Ausgehend von der sozioinformatischen Beschreibung des Phänomens zeichnet Brand nach, wie die Verfügbarmachung des Menschen im Androiden das Potenzial birgt, menschliche Gemeinschaft zu unterminieren.
