La resiliencia en el logro educativo de los estudiantes colombianos

Abstract

En el ámbito educativo se reconoce como estudiantes resilientes a aquellos que, a pesar de vivir en contextos de bajo nivel socioeconómico, logran obtener resultados académicos destacados. Con el objetivo de tener un concepto paralelo a este, en este artículo de investigación se introduce el término de estudiantes no destacados para hablar de aquellos estudiantes que tienen mayor nivel socioeconómico y, aun así, obtienen resultados académicos bajos. En este contexto, se utilizan los datos generados por el examen de Estado Saber 11 para reconocer estudiantes resilientes y no destacados, y, con la información disponible, identificar las variables que los caracterizan. El desarrollo de este tipo de estudios resulta fundamental para diseñar e implementar políticas públicas orientadas a superar las dificultades impuestas por el entorno socioeconómico de los estudiantes, mediante la identificación de componentes asociados al aprendizaje que no dependan directamente del nivel socioeconómico. Los resultados muestran que hay diferencias considerables entre las variables que se relacionan con la probabilidad de ser un estudiante resiliente y aquellas que se relacionan con la probabilidad de ser un estudiante no destacado. Se observa mayor nivel de resiliencia en los colegios públicos.
