Articuler traduction et traductologie

Abstract

L’article se penche sur les modalités d’insertion de la traductologie (en tant que discours théorique sur la pratique de traduction) dans le programme de la filière de Traduction à l’Université de Liège. L’introduction de la traductologie s’inscrit dans des cadres institutionnels spécifiques, parmi lesquels les référentiels de compétence, les contraintes propres aux programmes de cours et la tension entre deux conceptions de la formation qui se côtoient au sein de la filière. Entrainement à la traduction et discours scientifique s’articulent selon deux visions complémentaires (et parfois concurrentes) : la formation professionnalisante d’un côté, guidée essentiellement par les attentes de terrain, et la formation à la réflexion scientifique de l’autre, discours critique éloigné des contingences du marché, et qui se doit de garder une certaine distance par rapport à toute visée utilitariste.
