Abstract

Die Architekturtheorie setzt sich mit den fundamentalen Fragen des Bauens auseinander – von den idealen Formen uber den Zweck der Bauwerke bis zum Verhaltnis zwischen Architektur und Gesellschaft. Dietrich Erben gibt einen kompakten, luziden Uberblick uber die wichtigsten Ideen von der Antike bis zu den vielstimmigen Diskussionen der Gegenwart. Architekturtheorie ist aus der Anschauung gespeist und kann umgekehrt die stummen Bauten zum Sprechen bringen. Daher ist dieser Band auch eine ungemein anregende Anleitung zum Betrachten von gebauter Architektur.
