FOLK GAMES IN THE KARAKHANID STATE

Abstract

Since ancient times, mobile folk games have occupied an important place in the life of the peoples of the Karakhanid state. They strengthened the health and fighting spirit of the younger generation, prepared them for military affairs, and played an important role in their education. Military sports games related to military life and nomadic economic activity were mainly distributed. There were also games and entertainment that carried ritual and ritual functions included in the system of marriage, as well as memorial and funeral ceremonies. In the post-Soviet period in the Kyrgyz Republic, there was a need for a deeper study and systematization of folk games for practical use in the interests of reviving Kyrgyz traditional sports and folk outdoor games. In this regard, the study of the place and role of games and competitions in the life of the peoples of Central Asia in the Middle Ages is of great relevance. This article discusses the specifics of the development of traditional folk games in the Karakhanid state. During the existence of the Karakhanid state in Central Asia in the 9th-13th centuries. there was an intensive development of trade, science, culture.
