El artículo analiza la situación de inserción laboral femenina en los países del sur de América Latina (Argentina, Brasil, Chile, Paraguay y Uruguay) tanto en relación con el comportamiento del mercado de trabajo femenino como en materia de políticas y regulaciones laborales. A lo largo del análisis, se describe el marco legal de los países seleccionados, las reformas implementadas en los primeros años del siglo XXI, las políticas de conciliación trabajofamilia existentes y los compromisos asumidos por los Estados en el marco de una agenda regional que demanda acciones urgentes en torno a los problemas de desigualdad y discriminación que caracterizan a América Latina. Precisamente, el artículo deja sentado recomendaciones y líneas de acción futura para considerar en una agenda efectivamente igualitaria. English: The article analyzes the situation of female labour insertion in countries of southern Latin America (Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Paraguay and Uruguay) in relation to the performance of the female labour market and also in connection with labour policies and regulations. Throughout the analysis, the legal framework of the selected coun-tries, the reforms implemented in the early years of this century, as well as the work-family policies are described. More-over, the commitments of the States in the framework of a regional agenda that demand urgent action on issues of inequality and discrimination that characterize Latin America is described. The article makes recommendations and guidelines for future action in order to establish a truly equal agenda.
