ÜNİVERSİTE ÖĞRENCİLERİNİN TOPLUMSAL CİNSİYET ALGILARI

Abstract

Sociology is interested in socio-cultural division and categorization of gender idetities by the society. Different definitions are implied to gender on social field. These different definitions are reorganized through the build-up period of society and they offer behavior patterns and relationship types to the individuals. It can be hard for the society to accept and form these definitons and values; to change them can also be very difficult. The builded world of definiton can change between societies and also they can differ through different communities and smaller social groups in the same society. The gender patterns that are learned in period of socialization play a big role on people’s later life. This is why social denger studies are very important in locating these differences in societies. For this reason, we have tried to determine social gender perceptions in our study by surveyying 1029 university student.
