Abstract

Según las estadísticas de 1975 de la Central Latinoamericana de Trabajadores (CLAT) hay cerca de 100 millones de trabajadores en todo el Continente, y de estos, aproximadamente el 19 % están organizados en sindicatos. El porcentaje puede parecer poco importante y de hecho la ausencia de la mayoría absoluta de los trabajadores latinoamericanos en sus organizaciones es uno de los principales desafíos a ser vencidos en los próximos años por los que luchan por una sociedad democrática en el Continente.
