Rentismo e especulação no capitalismo determinado pelas finanças: uma abordagem pós-keynesiana*

Abstract

Resumo Este artigo tem como objetivo discutir o que se entende por rentismo e especulação financeira e sua relação com o nível de produção e a estabilidade financeiraa a partir de uma abordagem pós-keynesiana. Essa discussão é realizada também no contexto de uma economia globalizada e financeirizada, enfocando, em particular, a governança corporativa das empresas capitalistas (“maximização do valor ao acionista”), mostrando que, ao contrário do que foi preconizado por Keynes na sua Teoria geral, que via o rentismo como uma fase transitória, desde os anos 1980 observa-se o desenvolvimento de um capitalismo rentista (“rentier capitalism”) ou de um capitalismo determinando pelas finanças (“finance-led capitalism”). Neste contexto, não se pode falar na eutanásia do rentista, mas sim na vitória do rentistana atual fase do capitalismo contemporâneo. JEL: E12, E44, F32.
