Wireless Localization Using TDOA-DOA

Abstract

This paper describes a hybrid estimate DOA/TDOA (Direction of Arrival/Time Difference of Arrival) location estimation method based on the Multiple Signal classification MUSIC algorithm. The method utilized estimates the Direction (Angle) of Arrival (DOA) and Time Difference of Arrival (TDOA). It's a joint space time localization which is a generalization of recent methods to coherent signal. An exact MUSIC method is presented, Localization performance parameters are validated by various numbers of antennas (4, 8 and 16). Based on simulation model the 2D-location accuracy has been evaluated. The obtained results are useful in wireless communications for the identification of propagation channel with a pilot signal.
