Abstract

This study aims to examine the extent to which slavery is a dangerous criminal offenseand unfortunately abundant in a society considered to be civilized and advanced in allrespects.Slavery is a crime which is part of the category of offenses against the freedom ofpersons, that is regulated in Chapter VII, Title I of the Special part of the Romanian NewCriminal Code, Article 209.This phenomenon has existed since ancient times. Placing and keeping the persons ina state of slavery, as well as trafficking in slaves, are well known.
