The article shows the complex context of issues and problems related to statistical analysis of the “Righteous Among the Nations” phenomenon. Using databases based on the activities of Yad Vashem, it attempts to show the interpretative complexity in the compilations made with their help. The main part of the work is preceded by a description of the origin of the concept of honouring people who saved Jews during the Second World War, the scope of commemorations, the principles of awarding the title and the activity of the Commission for the Designation of Righteous Among the Nations.
