Abstract

TÜBİTAK’a bağlı olarak 1996 yılında kurulan ULAKBIM, UlakNet ve Cahit Arf Bilgi Merkezi olmak üzere iki bölümden oluşmaktadır. Merkezin amacı; Türkiyede’ki üniversite ve araştırma kurumlarını birbirlerine ve uluslararası bilgi ağlarına bağlayan sistemi kurarak işletmek; araştırmacıların gereksinim duydukları bilimsel bilgi ve belgeye erişimlerini sağlamak; ülke içerisinde üretilen bilgiyi kendi olanakları veya işbirliği yoluyla derleyerek erişime hazır veri tabanları geliştirmektir.
