Eletrocardiografia: Um Método Útil na Seleção de Animais de Experimentação

Abstract

Para o desenvolvimento e aquisicao de novas descobertas cientificas, os animais de experimentacao sao importantes. No entanto, para garantir uma pesquisa de boa qualidade, com resultados fidedignos e de extrema importância avaliar o estado de saude deles. O eletrocardiograma (ECG) e um metodo muito utilizado no diagnostico de doencas cardiovasculares tanto no homem, quanto nos estudos experimentais em animais. Assim, o objetivo deste trabalho foi avaliar o perfil eletrocardiografico em ratos adultos, no intuito de contribuir para o aprimoramento na selecao de animais destinados a experimentacao. Utilizou-se 50 ratos Wistar, os quais foram anestesiados com pentobarbital sodico (40 mg/kg/ip) e submetidos a avaliacao da atividade eletrica cardiaca (ECG). Os resultados dos registros eletrocardiograficos revelam a presenca de taquicardia e bradicardia sinusal e no que se refere ao dromotropismo observa-se arritmia, foco migratorio atrial e a presenca de extrassistoles em 10% dos ratos adultos. Na analise dos padroes das ondas eletrocardiograficas, foi observada uma grande variacao na voltagem da onda S e indicativos de ausencia de onda P em 17% dos registros analisados. Conclui-se que o eletrocardiograma e um importante instrumento nao invasivo, e util para se detectar alteracoes patologicas cardiacas, podendo auxiliar na selecao de animais destinados a experimentacao.
