Abstract

Se han realizado estudios sobre la capacidad fagocitaria de la gamma globulina de perro, en relación con la fagocitosis de estafilococos patógenos por los leucocitos polimorfonucleares circulantes, así como sobre las modificaciones observadas en los componentes séricos después de la esplenectomía, en su comportamiento sobre este mismo proceso. Se pone de manifiesto que la capacidad fagocitaria del suero normal de perro, está íntimamente relacionada con una fracción de gamma globulina sérica (subfracción D) que se obtiene por cromatografía de esta proteína en la última porción cromatográfica y que posiblemente representa la fracción proteica con una carga eléctrica más positiva. A la subfracción D se debe el 90 % del poder fagocitario del suero de los animales por nosotros estudiados. La esplenectomía reduce dicho poder en un 35-40 %, debido fundamentalmente a la disminución en el poder fagocitario de esta fracción. No existe relación con las alteraciones cuantitativas observadas en el nivel sérico de la misma, lo que hace suponer que la ausencia del bazo lo que produce es más bien una alteración cualitativa en las moléculas de gamma globulina sintetizadas, que sea particularmente crítica en el proceso de fagocitosis.
