Abstract

Es un hecho bien conocido que la agresión inflamatoria produce importantes alteraciones en los niveles de proteínas plasmáticas. De entre ellas, la haptoglobina y la fracción C3 del complemento, proteínas reactantes de fase aguda, se consideran importantes mediadores de la respuesta inflamatoria aunque no es bien conocida la especificidad de su comportamiento.  En el presente trabajo hemos estudiado las variaciones plasmáticas de dichas proteínas tras una agresión inflamatoria inducida experimentalmente en ratas, relacionando su cómportamiento con el estado de las lesiones. Nuestros resultados demuestran que aunque los niveles plasmáticos de ambas -proteínas se encuentran elevados durante la agresión inflamatoria, la haptoglobina traduce con mayor fiabilidad los fenómenos locales que ocurren en el foco inflamatorio, sugiriendo una especificidad de cada reactante de fase aguda dependiente del tipo de agresión sufrida.
