Nuevos derivados de 1,4-dióxido de quinoxalinas: Compuestos con actividad antitumoral

Abstract

En 1962 Haley y colaboradores describieron las propiedades de algunos derivados de 1,4-dióxido de quinoxalina, que ejercen efecto radioprotector en el ratón y radiosensibilizador en el perro. Los compuestos derivados de 1.4-dióxido de quinoxalina son heterociclos, electrofilicos, de bajo peso molecular y tienen acción a nivel celular y molecular. En el presente trabajo se ha valorado la actividad antitumoral de cinco de estos derivados, frente al crecimiento de colonias a partir de siembra de células tumorales procedentes de biopsias de pacientes con cáncer. Los estudios preliminares de la acción antitumoral de los compuestos valorados en este estudio señalan un efecto importante en la inhibición de formación de colonias en diferentes tumores humanos. Es de destacar la importante sensibilidad de tumores en los que clinicamente existe poca actividad para los citostáticos: carcinoma de pulmón, carcinoma de estómago y sarcomas.
