El Quijote no es una obra única en su escritura ni singular en su autoría. Una de las notas más sorprendentes de la obra cervantina es la pluralidad de manuscritos existentes sobre el personaje manchego y, como consecuencia de este hecho, la multiplicidad de autores. Esto nos lleva a defender la existencia de diferentes historias de Don Quijote y de distintos autores dentro de la novela cervantina. Presentar y explicar esta variedad de manuscritos y la diversidad de autores es la basa y razón de este estudio.
