Alejandro Magno es una figura histórica que ha llamado el interés del mundo académico y artístico. En el cine hay que destacar los largometrajes de los directores norteamericanos Robert Rossen y Oliver Stone. El presente trabajo reflexiona sobre la idea de imperio que aquí se desarrolla, considerando que los Estados Unidos son el actual imperio y que ambos cineastas muestran una posición crítica con ciertas políticas de su país.
