Occidenchthonius Zaragoza, 2017 (Pseudoscorpiones, Chthoniidae): first record from the Czech Republic

Abstract

The genus Occidenchthonius Zaragoza, 2017 is reported for the first time from the Czech Republic. Specimens of Occidenchthonius parmensis (Beier, 1963) were collected using a subterranean tube trap placed at the edge of an overgrowing clay slope in Čejkovice. Diagnostic characters distinguishing Occidenchthonius from other chthoniid genera known in the country are discussed.
