Abstract

A vese méhen belüli funkciója csak közvetve, a méhen kívüli pedig közvetlenül életfontos. Méhen belül jelentős mértékben járul hozzá a magzatvíz mennyiségéhez. A magzatvíz kellő térfogata teszi lehetővé a magzat légzőmozgásait, amelyek a tüdő fejlődését segítik. Ezek nélkül a tüdő hypoplasiás, ami halálos lehet a világrajövetel után. Megszületés után a vese választja ki a nitrogéntartalmú salakanyagokat, amely funkció hiánya esetén a halálos uraemia következik be. A vesefunkció mellett lényeges a húgyutak épsége, mert nélkülük a felgyülemlett vizelet elsorvasztja a vese állományát. Egyes rendellenességek befolyásolhatók punkcióval vagy sönttel. A vese funkciója azonban már károsodott lehet, és a beavatkozás nem segít. Figyelembe kell venni azt is, hogy a húgyúti rendellenességek egyéb anomáliákkal társulhatnak, amikor hiba lenne a terápiás kísérlet. Nem korrigálható esetekben marad a terhességmegszakítás, ami által a perinatalis halálozás is csökkenthető.
