Abstract

Os transtornos de humor em idosos são uma preocupação crescente na saúde pública devido ao envelhecimento populacional e ao impacto significativo que essas condições podem ter sobre a qualidade de vida. As alterações de humor, especialmente a depressão, são comuns nessa faixa etária, muitas vezes exacerbadas por fatores como o isolamento social, perdas de entes queridos, comorbidades crônicas e mudanças nas funções cognitivas e físicas, contribuindo para que os idosos fiquem em situações de vulnerabilidade.
