Prácticas de los habitantes en territorios metropolizados. Inteligencias ordinarias de lo urbano

Abstract

El artículo propone una reflexión sobre las prácticas cotidianas de los habitantes en espacios urbanos métropolizados. Trata, específicamente, las prácticas lúdicas en los espacios públicos, las movilidades alternativas al automóvil y las relaciones sociales vinculadas a la vivienda. Pretende caracterizar las inteligencias del ordinario urbano que se construyen a partir de los usos directos de la ciudad y del uso que se hace de las TIC. La reflexión se apoya en observaciones, no sistemáticas, realizadas en los últimos cinco años en Toulouse (Francia), Medellín (Colombia) y Quito (Ecuador). El artículo presenta, en primer lugar, un marco de análisis teórico sobre la metropolización y sus usos ordinarios, luego la metodología utilizada y, a continuación, detalla los tres ejemplos de prácticas urbanas. Las prácticas lúdicas revelan el valor de uso de los espacios públicos, los usos de la bicicleta y la caminata afirman otros modelos de movilidad, mientras que la cuestión de la vivienda se considera a partir de formas de valorización social. Estos ejemplos estudian las capacidades cognitivas, adaptativas, de protesta y transformadoras de las prácticas cotidianas de la ciudad, así como sus límites, poniendo en evidencia hasta qué punto las áreas metropolitanas tienen valor de uso y valor social.
