Hepatitis B Immunization

Authors: Jon Matithew Farber;

Hepatitis B Immunization

Abstract

To the Editor.— As a practicing pediatrician, I have two major reservations with the current recommendations of the Committee on Infectious Diseases for universal Hepatitis B virus (HBV) immunization. The first reservation is practical, and the second is theoretical. The Committee realized that administering three injections of different vaccines at the same time is something most parents and pediatricians would wish to avoid, and also that requiring an extra office visit for HBV vaccination was not attractive.
