To the Editor.— Excellent recommendations to avoid error in drug dosage and administration were made by Koren et al1 and in the "Letters to the Editor" correspondence between him and Dr Lamont.2 However, I believe two statements require further clarification. Dr Lamont's PEDICard gives an energy dose of 1 to 3 joules/kg for cardioversion. Cardioversion is the timed depolarization of myocardial cells used to restore a stable rhythm and must be synchronized with the QRS complex(es).
