Not too many years ago articles appeared in pediatric journals regarding the attachment of the frenulum of the upper lip to the gum and the relationship of this attachment to the separation of the upper central incisors. I would like to know if there is any further more conclusive work on this subject. The opportunity to see and correct this abnormality early is the pediatrician's and should be done if the correction is of definite value in reducing or eliminating orthodontic procedures at a later time.
