Blood from 1,125 sets of mothers and infants was grouped and typed. Blood of mother and infant was found to be incompatible in the ABO system in 230 instances. ABO erythroblastosis was detected by rigid criteria in 5.6% of this group. To date the Witebsky slide test appears to be a valuable adjunct in the diagnosis of ABO erythroblastosis.
