Social Partnership in the System of Socio-Cultural Activities of the National Libraries of the NAS of Ukraine in War Time

Abstract

The purpose of the article is to characterize the features of social partnershipin the field of socio-cultural activities of national scientific libraries in the system of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine during the period of martial law after February 24, 2022. The methodological basis of the work is a complex of general scientific (analysis, synthesis, generalization, systematization) and special research methods (descriptive, analytical-synthetic, structural-functional), the use of systemic and socio-communication approaches. The partnership work of national scientific libraries is aimed at comprehensive measures of fundamental importance, which allow integrating different approaches to the presentation of the achievements of modern science, presenting the best examples of scientific thought of the past and present to the Ukrainian and world public, combining national and global trends in the development of information and librarianship. The main direction of the work of V. I. Vernadsky National Library of Ukraine and Vasyl Stefanyk National Scientific Library of Ukraine in Lviv during the war is organization of the maximum protection and preservation of their unique collections through the digitization of manuscript and book heritage. The partnership cooperation of the national libraries of Ukraine with public and volunteer organizations for the protection of our state, support of the defense forces and the civilian population of Ukraine was updated. Promotion of the Ukrainian book as a valuable source of preservation of national identity became an important area of the libraries work; presentation of unique and rare editions stored in the libraries collections to the Ukrainian and world public; presentation of the best achievements of Ukrainian science and culture, their inclusion in the national and global socio-cultural space.
