
The article deals with the problem of knowledge management as a phenomenon of the modern world, its main components are determined. It is characterized the processes and systems of organization. There are represented the information retrieval systems of libraries as knowledge management tools. It is observed the relationship between knowledge management and document heuristics. The essence of document heuristics is revealed; defined its object, subject, tasks as a new scientific direction. Proved that document heuristics can become an integral part of the knowledge management system.
