V. Džeimso „radikalusis empirizmas“

Abstract

Straipsnyje nagrinėjama amerikiečių pragmatizmo filosofijos svarbiausio atstovo W. Jameso pažinimo sampratos svarbiausi bruožai. Filosofas plėtojo vadinamąjį radikalųjį empirizmą, teigiantį, kad visa realybė (fizinė ir psichinė) yra sudaryta iš vienos pirminės – patyrimo – substancijos. Grynasis patyrimas yra sudėtingas nuoseklus darinys, atsiveriantis žmogaus sąmonei iš karto savo tikrąja esme. Pirminiai patyrimo duomenys pasireiškia kaip jutimiškai nepertraukiami, kaip patyrimo srautas. Perėjimas į kitą patyrimą yra vienintelė prieš tai buvusio patyrimo funkcija. Teigiama, kad W. Jameso pažinimo teorijoje nelieka objektyvios subjekto bei objekto tarpusavio sąveikos. Pažintinį santykį šioje teorijoje pakeičia skirtingos reagavimo į įvairius dirgiklius formos ir nerami būsena pačios sąmonės viduje. Daroma išvada, kad, sutelkęs visą dėmesį į individualų patyrimą kaip gnoseologinių problemų sprendimo pagrindą, W. Jamesas iš esmės sukūrė naują subjektyviojo idealizmo variantą.
