Modelado Numérico del Maremoto de Lambayeque 1960 (7.6 Mw)

Abstract

En este articulo se estudia la dinámica y simulación numérica del maremoto de Lambayeque, Perú ocurrido el 20 de noviembre de 1960 (Mw = 7.6) en sus tres procesos: generación, propagación e inundación. El modelo numérico TUNAMI fue utilizado para simular los procesos de propagación e inundación. Se requiere como datos de entrada la información de batimetría y topografía obtenidas del modelo GEBCO con resolución de 30 segundos de arco (aproximadamente 927 m). Los resultados del modelo son los parámetros como: tiempos de arribo de la primera ola del maremoto, máximas alturas de olas y las áreas de inundación para cada zona a modelar, estos resultados han sido corroborados con información proporcionada por la población que soportó los efectos del sismo y posterior maremoto y que se detalla en el presente artículo. Los resultados de los tiempos de arribo para las zonas de Pimentel, Santa Rosa y Puerto Eten fueron de 30, 35 y 40 minutos respectivamente. La máxima inudación en Pimentel fue de 1.86 km de distancia y la altura de la ola llegó aproximadamente a los 6 m.
