La retomada negra en el norte de Chile: afrodescendencia en Arica

Abstract

El colonialismo, a través de la esclavización de miles de africanos, ha dejado su huella en Chile, especialmente en la zona norte del país. Desde mi experiencia etnográfica en este territorio, más precisamente en Arica, escribo este artículo. Mi trabajo de campo fue realizado en esta ciudad mencionada que hace frontera con Perú y con Bolivia. El objetivo de este artículo es intentar pensar una suerte de trenzado entre la práctica antropológica, las perspectivas afrodescendientes en esta región y el conocimiento académico. Para ello, a partir de algunos de los encuentros que tuve en Arica, exploro medios de pensar que involucran relaciones con otros seres, como el cultivo del olivo, con celebraciones en torno al agua y con saberes localizados. A partir de ahí, se teje un diálogo con pensadores como Antônio Nego Bispo y Ana Mumbuca, que nos ayudan a reflexionar sobre las posibles cuestiones que esos saberes orgánicos plantean a la práctica antropológica y a la ciencia.
