La cerámica vaccea decorada con pintura blanca

Abstract

The most characteristic Vaccaean fine ware is that of red/orange surfaces painted with geometric designs in black, maroon, beige or redddish-orange. From the end of the Second century BC to the beginnings of the First century AC, and perhaps by influences of the numantine polychrome pottery, many vessels present horizontal lines, bands and large zones painted in white. Many motifs (geometrics and figuratives) are painted on white. At the vaccaean territory only in a few number of cities there are pottery painted in white. Of all, in Cauca (Coca, Segovia) we think that this characteristic vessel was produced.
