
O presente ensaio visa apresentar sucintamente principais ideias e relações entre o pensamento evolucionista cultural clássico do século XIX e a escola do particularismo histórico proposto por Franz Boas no início do século XX a partir dos livros “Evolucionismo Cultural: textos de Morgan, Tylor e Frazer” (2005) e “Franz Boas – Antropologia Cultural” (2004) de Celso Castro. Tais perspectivas marcaram o início da antropologia enquanto ciência humana capaz de compreender o homem e sua cultura.
