Caracterización fisicoquímica de un lactosuero: potencialidad de recuperación de fósforo

Abstract

El objetivo fue caracterizar un lactosuero de la planta de lácteos del municipio Santiago de Anaya en Hidalgo y valorar su recuperación de fósforo. Para ello, se realizó un muestreo compuesto: se determinó, según normas mexicanas, conductividad eléctrica, pH, potencial redox, potencial zeta, tamaños y distribución de partículas, demanda química de oxígeno, sólidos totales, volátiles y suspendidos, grasas, turbidez, proteínas, lactosa, ácido láctico y fósforo. Se aplicó un proceso de electrocoagulación con electrodos de Al y Ru2O3 para remoción de carga orgánica. Los resultados promedios arrojaron que es un lactosuero ácido (pH=4,8), pZ de -4,02 mV, que presenta elevadas cargas orgánicas (DQO > 100 000 mg O2/L), entre las que destacan contenidos de lactosa (4,4 g/dL), ácido láctico (0,27 g/dL), grasas (0,83 g/dL) y proteínas (1,08 g/dL), así como PO43- de 20,8 g/dL. Al término de 24 horas de electrocoagu­lación, se logró remover el 84 % de la DQO y recuperar 17,4 g/dL de PO43- de la fase acuosa limpia y 0,07 g/kg del sólido floculado (lo que representa un total del 87 %).
