Los seres vivos son capaces de generar campos magnéticos. A pesar de ser muy débiles, estos campos ya pueden ser detectados por instrumentos sofisticados, lo que abre un nuevo campo de investigación. Estudios recientes sobre este fenómeno revelan que la detección y el análisis de los campos generados en órganos como el cerebro, corazón, pulmones, hígado y otros, pueden facilitar el diagnóstico y los tratamientos de enfermedades, entre otras aplicaciones.
