AbstractThe field of diagnosis is hardly static. Taking a step back, advances in diagnosis have been dramatic over the past few decades, and promise to accelerate going forward. Progress will be created through three main drivers: Continuing advances in the tools we use for diagnosis, adoption and use of electronic resources, and applying quality improvement strategies to reduce diagnostic error and variability.
