This volume provides insight into the work of the "Collegium for the Advanced Study of the Picture Act and Embodiment" at the London Warburg Institute. It gathers a range of studies on the history and anthropology of the "picture act" (Bildakt), on phenomena related to the haptic experience of the image, on the living dynamics of internal and external movement in imagery and language, and on methodological aspects of picture act theory.
