This is an annotated data management plan (DMP) template for a Biotechnology and Biological Sciences Research Council (BBSRC) data management plan, required for attachment to grant applications. This document (available in .pdf and .docx formats) was created using the DMPonline tool, which provides templates for structuring major research funders' DMPs. The document includes the guidance text provided in the tool, produced by the Digital Curation Centre (DCC), the BBSRC and the University of Sheffield Library. Applications for BBSRC grants require the attachment of a data management plan no more than 1 side of A4 in size. Eight themes are proposed that applicants may wish to cover. These themes are built into the DMPonline template for BBSRC plans. For further guidance see the BBSRC Data Sharing Policy, the BBSRC Research Grants Guide and Application Guidance: Data Management Plan. The DCC also provides guidance on Data management Plans and How to Develop a Data Management and Sharing Plan.
