Abstract

Colorectal cancer is the third most common type of cancer in Western countries. In 2012 alone, an estimated 23 300 Canadians received a diagnosis of colorectal cancer and 9200 died from it.[1][1] Of the patients who receive a diagnosis, about one-third will have metastasis confined to the liver,[2][
