Hatay Halkevi’nin faaliyetleri ve Hatay Halkevi Dergisi (1939-1951)

Abstract

İki dünya savaşı arası dönemde Türk dış politikasında önem arz eden Hatay meselesinin çözüme erişmesinde siyasi/diplomatik mücadeleden ziyade kültürel anlamda da çaba gösterilmiştir. Nitekim Türkiyenin genelinde dokuz kolda faaliyette bulunan halkevleri, Hatayda üç kolda (1937 ile 1939 arası) çalışmalarını sürdürerek Hatayın Türkiyeye iltihakını sağlamış ve diğer halkevlerinden farklı bir misyon üstlenmiştir. Çalışmada bu farklılıklar ortaya konularak, halkevlerinin Hatayın Türkiyeye iltihakı sonrasındaki toplumsal dönüşümü sağlama ve milli kültür yaratma yolundaki çalışmalarına analitik bir bakış açısıyla yer verilmiştir. Bu çalışmayla sıklıkla siyasal mücadele üzerine kurgulanan Hatay tarih yazımında fazlaca değinilmeyen (özellikle 1939 sonrası) halkevleri ve faaliyetleri arşiv belgeleri ışığında, döneme tanıklık edenlerin ifadeleri ve yerel basının ekseninde ele alınarak literatüre katkı sağlanmak amaçlanmıştır. During the era between the two world wars, not only political/diplomatic but also cultural efforts were made to solve 'the Hatay issue' which was important for the foreign policiy of Turkish Government. Thus, 'people houses' ,which were active in nine branches throughout Turkey, provided adherence of Hatay to Turkey by continuing their mission in Hatay in three branches (1937-1939) and undertook a different mission from the other 'people houses'. In this study, facilities of 'people houses' which were to create a national culture after the adherence of Hatay to Turkey were given place in an analytic way by putting forward these differences. With this study, under the light of archive documents of people houses, the perspectives of the witnesses and local press of the period, it is aimed to discuss people houses and their facilities, which were not covered (especially after 1939) in the history writing process of Hatay and thus, to make contribution to the literature.
