Abstract

Historische Ereignisse gelten als zentrale Elemente bei der Auseinandersetzung mit der Vergangenheit. Nachdem ihre Bedeutung mit dem Aufstieg der Sozialgeschichte in den Hintergrund rückte, hat in jüngster Zeit – auch durch kultur-, medien- und sozialwissenschaftliche Impulse – die Auseinandersetzung mit Ereignissen wieder zugenommen. In dem Artikel wird diskutiert, wie sich das historische Ereignis konzeptionell fassen lässt, wie sich sein Status in der Geschichtswissenschaft wandelte und welche (zeit-)historischen Ansätze sich zur Erforschung anbieten.
