Abstract

Historia rabunku dóbr kultury dokonanego przez nazistów podczas II wojny światowej, późniejsze losy i lokalizacja zbiorów, a także powojenne zabiegi o ich odzyskanie do dziś nie zostały w wystarczającym stopniu zbadane naukowo. Niniejsza praca omawia działanie i strukturę jednej z głównych niemieckich agencji powołanych do zarządzania zorganizowaną grabieżą – Sztabu Operacyjnego Rosenberga (Einsatzstab Rechisleiter Rosenberg – ERR). Skupia się na konfiskatach przeprowadzanych w bibliotekach i archiwach, odtwarza przemieszczanie zagrabionego materiału, ujawnia przy tym nowe materiały źródłowe oraz identyfikuje zbiory, które nie zostały po wojnie zwrócone prawowitym właścicielom. Przede wszystkim zwrócono uwagę na materiały, które pod koniec wojny znalazły się w mało znanym centrum badań i w bibliotece ERR w Raciborzu (niem. Ratibor), gdzie Niemcy zdołali przetransportować ponad dwa miliony książek.
