
A case study of Yakutia shows that economic regionalization should be viewed both from the perspective of historical retrospective, and from the standpoint of modern views on the formation, within the economic space, of specialized areas of different hierarchical levels. Considered are intraregional economic zoning of Yakutia, divisional economic zoning, current internal economic division of the territory, and typological zoning. A number of approaches are shown regarding the republic’s place in the national regionalization system
