Abstract

Osmanli kronikleri, kisisel deneyim ve gozlemlerin aktarilmasi, yuksek makamdaki bir zatin istegi uzerine ehil bir kisi tarafindan yapilan eser calismasi veya belli bir kisinin resmi olarak tarih yazma isiyle gorevlendirilmesi sonucu ortaya cikmistir. Kroniklerde, mukaddime ya da dibace denilen ve gunumuzde onsozun karsiligi olan baslangic bolumlerinin, Osmanli tarihcilerinin bircogu tarafindan ozenle olusturuldugu gorulmektedir. Muverrihler eserlerini mukaddime, giris ve ana metin esasi cercevesinde yazmislardir. Bu eserler isledikleri konular itibariyle farklilik arz ettikleri gibi bircogu tarafindan oldukca onemsendigi anlasilan mukaddime kisimlari da bazi yonleriyle birbirinden ayrilmaktadir. Bu calismada Osmanli Devleti’nin kurulus doneminden 16. yuzyilin sonuna kadar yazilmis olan 18 Osmanli kronigi incelenmis olup bu eserlerin mukaddime kisminda nasil bir metot izlendigi pek cok yonden ele alinmistir. Islami bir gelenek olarak mukaddimelerde gorulen besmele, hamdele, salvele ve methiye, telif sebebi, muellifin kendi hakkindaki ifadeleri, dua beklentisi ve okuyucuya hitap konu basliklari seklinde bir sira takip edilmis olup, bu kisimlar ayrintili bir sekilde irdelenmistir. Bu sekilde muverrihlerin mukaddime geleneginde izledikleri siralama ve yontemlerin birbirinden farklari ve benzer yanlari incelenerek soz konusu yontemlerden bir sablon cikarmak amaclanmistir.
