Abstract

O artigo é uma síntese da pesquisa de doutoramento da autora no Programa de Pós-Graduação em História da PUC do Rio de Janeiro. Trata-se de uma abordagem da História Social da Cultura que reconstrói diálogos entre a memória dos congadeiros de Uberlândia/ MG e a cultura material dos povos da atual República Democrática do Congo - RDC. Foi escrito a convite da Coordenação do Centro de Documentação e Pesquisa em História CDHIS/INHIS, também para registrar a incorporação ao acervo de fotografias do final do século XIX e início do XX utilizadas na pesquisa e cedidas pelo Museu Real da África Central, um material inédito no Brasil, que já está disponível para pesquisadores e estudantes da região do Triângulo Mineiro. Palavras-chave: África Central, memória, cultura popular, congado, diáspora africana ABSTRACT: The article is a synthesis of PhD research for Programa de Pós-Graduação em História da PUC of Rio de Janeiro. It is an approach in field of Social History of Culture and rebuilds dialogues between congadeiros memory of Uberlândia/MG and material culture of República Democrática do Congo - RDC people. It has been written as an answer of the Centro de Deocumentação e Pesquisa em História/CDHIS/INHIS invitation, also to record the incorporation of nineteenth and twentieth century photographies, given by Royal Museum for Central Africa. The documents were selected by the author and used in her thesis, before given to CDHIS, exclusive material which is already disposal to students and researches of Universidade Federal de Uberlândia, Minas Gerais.
