Der Geschmack der Gentrifizierung

Abstract

Arabische Imbisse haben von Beginn an die Gentrifizierung in Berliner Vierteln wie Kreuzberg, Prenzlauer Berg und Friedrichshain mitgepragt. Von dieser ethnischen Gastronomie ausgehend untersucht Miriam Stock die Konstruktion dortiger Geschmackslandschaften. Sie beleuchtet sowohl die kreativen Praktiken und Verortungen der migrantischen Imbissbetreiber als auch die Dispositionen der neuburgerlichen Konsumenten, die in ihrem Streben nach kultureller Hegemonie auf Authentizitatsinszenierungen bedacht sind. Mittels subtiler und strenger Beobachtung des Alltaglichen entsteht so eine Zeitdiagnose uber die feinen Mechaniken der Distinktion im spatmodernen Kapitalismus.
